We found something to do with those glasses that get broken more often now that I allow the boys to use them. We shoot at them with Allen's old BB gun. A great way to spend an afternoon. Allen was the first to make contact. In the end we all hit one of the two glasses-a great feeling I must say. This is what was left.

Today is Claire's adoption day. On the way to school I asked her if she was going to tell her teacher that it was her adoption day today. She said, "mom, I don't know if she knows that I am adopted, but I will tell her." This put a big smile on my face. Jared gave me a funny look and when Claire was out of the car he said to me, "of course her teacher knows, Claire looks different than us, she is Chinese!" I tried to explain to him how great this moment was...that even though Claire knows she is Chinese and looks different than us...at that moment she wasn't thinking about it...and that tells me she doesn't think about it much...which means we are doing a good job...which makes me so happy.
Throughout the summer we occasionally have our dinners poolside. They are my favorite. We had one tonight. We swam before dinner, while Allen grilled some chicken, pineapple, toast and corn. We enjoyed this delicious meal in our dripping suits and wet hair. Then we swam a little more. We all agreed that these meals just taste better. Yes, Allen is a good cook, but there is something extra good about just being poolside/lakeside for dinner. Good times. Oh, I miss summer.
