garden

Our garden, that we thought we lost in the hail storm, survived, and is currently providing us with some yummy food. I have not gotten tired of saying at the dinner table, "those tomatoes/peppers are straight from our garden". The kids may be sick of hearing me, but I don't care. Our first cucumber is almost ready and we have enjoyed a few strawberries.

make-overs

Claire loves to do "make-overs". She has a stash of play make-up in my bathroom. This time she did her cousin Sydney's make-up (notice the great lip stick application) and Sydney did Claire's. You can't see in this picture, but they have glitter all over their faces. When do girls start wearing make-up for real?? It can't come soon enough for Claire.

nerf wars

Another thing on our "do this summer" list was having a summer long family nerf war. The boys idea of course. Allen loved the idea and bought all the guns and bullets at Target one day. Claire got an automatic one. We let the kids know we bought the guns by calling them down stairs and ambushing them on arrival. A nerf war ensued. Since then we have had many variations and had to make a few rules. One night the power was out and Allen came up with capture the flag type games that we all enjoyed. It's been fun and I have tried hard not to get irritated when I find random bullets around the house.

We have just about finished our summer list...just have "make a dry ice bomb" left. Not sure if that one is going to happen.
