We enjoyed almost 4 inches of snow this week. This time Allen and I went out with the kids to enjoy the snow-for 2 hours. Here is some of what we did:

snow and ice
We enjoyed some snow and ice last week. It messed up Allen's last week of work. The kids were out three days the week before Christmas break. We got to try out snow at our new place....

snowed in
Here is what we did with our snowy weekend
1.finished Carter's science fair project
this is what happens to your teeth if they sit in Pepsi for a week
2. Had "funky hair day"-Carter's idea4. played LOTS of video games
5. watched movies: Cloudy with a chance of meatballs with the kids
and My Sister's Keeper when they were in bed. Both were great.
6. tried Papa Murphy's take and bake pizza-yummy
7. did two P90X workout videos as a family. Claire can contort her body any way she wants, Carter looks like he is watching a different video, and Jared needs a lot of positive re-enforcement.
8. went sledding, real sledding!

Carter decided to turn a sled into a snowboard

Jared joined in on the fun

first snow

We had our first snow fall of the season and we are hoping it is just the beginning. We had Emma and Ben spending the night while Claire was at the Cruzes. The snowman kept falling down and ended up just being a ball in our front yard. Sledding in the back yard was pretty good. Making the snow forts for the snow ball fight was more fun than the actual fight. The fort and ball had so many leaves mixed in that they are now little piles of leaves in our yard.Saturday, February 7, 2009
fun with vinyl
A while back I let the boys pick out a vinyl design to go in their self decorated rooms. We finally got them and I must say, they are pretty cool. Very easy to put up and look really neat directly on the wall. The boys ran back and forth between the rooms exclaiming their excitement. I had also ordered some snow flakes and the words "let it snow" to make something I had seen at a party. I painted the wood blocks one day and then Sunday I let the boys help decide where the words/snowflakes should go (they were very opinionated about it). I let them put them on and pull off the paper, etc. They turned out cute and are on the mantel. And sure enough, the next day it snowed. We didn't know we had such power.
